Terms & Conditions

Membership in the Association shall be in accordance with the following rules:

1-Active membership:

Active membership is granted to Kuwaiti nationals who hold a qualification as a pilot or an aircraft engineer. Active members shall exercise their rights and fulfill their obligations in accordance with the provisions of this statute.

A–Pilot:

The member must hold at minimum a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or its equivalent, duly approved by the Kuwait Directorate General of Civil Aviation, authorizing the holder to work as a pilot in commercial aviation.

B-aircraftEngineer.

The member must hold an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (LICENSES) issued by, or recognized from, one of the following authorities:

• British Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)

• United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)

• Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA – Europe, United States, Japan – harmonized regulations)

or any equivalent license, provided that it is recognized by the CAA/FAA/JAA and the Kuwait Directorate General of Civil Aviation, authorizing the holder to work as an aircraft engineer.

Alternatively, the member may hold a Bachelor’s degree in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Sciences (Airframe & Power Plant Maintenance Degree) or a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering.

Those working in engineering departments, quality control, and aviation safety under the title “Aircraft Engineer” may also qualify, provided they hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Aircraft Engineering, Aviation Sciences, or Industrial Engineering and are employed in airlines operating within the State of Kuwait only.

2- Honorary Member

An honorary member is a distinguished Kuwaiti personality whom the Board members deems appropriate to include in the Association. Such a member shall enjoy membership in accordance with Articles (5–6) of this statute.

The Board members may, after obtaining the approval of the General Assembly, nominate an Honorary President of the Association, who shall have the right to attend meetings of the Board members.

The term of the honorary presidency may be for one year or for an indefinite period. The Honorary President or Honorary Member shall be exempt from membership fees, application procedures, and related charges.

3 – Associate Member:

An Associate Member is any individual who is neither an Active nor an Honorary Member and may benefit from the facilities of the Association in accordance with Article (10) of this statute.

It is a requirement for all types of membership that the member has not been convicted of a crime involving dishonesty or moral turpitude, unless he or she has been cleared of the charges. Additionally, the member must agree to abide by the Association’s regulations and must be at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of submitting the application.

Article (5):

All Honorary and Associate Members shall enjoy the rights and fulfill the obligations granted to them under this statute and the regulations issued by the Association. However, only active members whose membership has been in effect for at least 6 months may apply this right.

Article (6):

Membership applications shall be submitted to the Association’s Secretary using the designated form, accompanied by the applicable membership fee in accordance with the provisions of the Financial Regulations. The names of applicants shall be recorded in a special register in the order of the date of submission, for reference when necessary. The Secretary shall present the applications to the Board members for a decision within a maximum period of 30 days from the date of submission. If no decision is made within this period, the application shall be deemed accepted as of the date of submission.

Article (7):

The applicant shall be notified of the Board’s decision by documented notice within 2 weeks from the date of issuance. A copy of the decision shall be posted on the Association’s notice board.

In the case of acceptance, the applicant shall pay the membership fee in accordance with the provisions of the Financial Regulations. In the case of rejection, the previously paid fee shall be refunded to the applicant.

Article (8):

The Board members shall issue a decision to terminate or suspend the membership of a member in the following cases:

A–Death

B–Resignation

C – Loss of any of the membership eligibility criteria The decision to terminate membership shall take effect from the date the reason for termination occurs.

In the event that a member delays the payment of the membership fee by the due date specified in the Statute or the Financial Regulations, the Association may suspend the membership. During the suspension period, the member shall not be entitled to enjoy any membership rights until the overdue fees are fully paid.

Article (9):

A member whose membership has been terminated for any reason, or their heirs in the event of death, shall not be entitled to reclaim the membership fee, subscriptions, donations, or gifts that were made during the period of membership.

Article (10):

The Association may admit non-members to benefit from the Association’s facilities without having any right to participate in its management in any form. Their admission shall be for a limited period, as determined by a decision of the Board members.

Visitors shall be required to pay the fees for using the Association’s facilities and any other charges specified in the Financial Regulations. Applications shall be submitted using the designated form, and the procedures set forth in Articles (6) and (7) of this statute shall apply.
