About Us

The Kuwait Aircraft Engineers and Pilots Association is a professional public-benefit association in the State of Kuwait. The Association was established in 1973 following the increase in the number of Kuwaiti pilots and aircraft engineers working at the Kuwait Airways Corporation.

The growing need arose to create a public-benefit association to represent and serve this professional segment of the Kuwaiti population, promote aviation sciences in Kuwait and the wider region, keep pace with developments in the aviation industry, and address professional matters of interest to its members.

The Association remains the first specialized association in this field in the Arabian Gulf region.

The Association is managed by a Board of Directors composed of pilots and engineers, serving a term of two (2) years. The board members are elected by the General Assembly through a voting process.

The Association has had an Honorary President since its establishment until 2017, namely His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Membership and Objectives of the Association:

The Association currently has 550 Active Members, comprising both pilots and aircraft engineers. In addition, there are 20 Associate Members, who are not required to belong to the pilot or aircraft engineer categories, according to the latest amendment of the Statute.

While the Statute sets the eligibility criteria for membership, it also establishes a framework for the Association’s objectives and mechanisms for voluntary work, which include:

1.Serving all members, preserving their rights, and strengthening bonds of friendship among them.

2.Enhancing the professional, literary, and cultural level of its members.

3.Providing members with information related to developments in aviation sciences and encouraging the exchange of knowledge among them during meetings and conferences.

4.Promoting public awareness of aviation and air navigation matters through all state-authorized publication channels.

5.Encouraging Kuwaiti youth to join the aviation field.

6.Strengthening the Association’s ties with local, Arab, and international associations and organizations concerned with aviation, in order to achieve further progress and safety in the aviation field, in compliance with the laws of the State of Kuwait.
